More than a month after releasing iOS 18.1, Apple launched iOS 18.2 in October. Some iPhones now have a few new Apple Intelligence capabilities thanks to iOS 18.2, but iOS 18 also provides you additional customization options. The operating system allows you to personalize both your home screen and lock screen. It also makes it simple to resize and transform your home screen applications into widgets.

If you didn’t like a widget’s size in previous iterations of iOS, you would have to remove it. You would have to go through the whole process of selecting the appropriate size, putting it on your screen, and then figuring out where to put it after erasing it. You may now resize your widget instantaneously without having to do those additional steps.

How to customize your home screen using widgets

To bring up a menu, long-press on an application. After that, you’ll see several new tiled icons that resemble various widgets.

Certain applications, such as Weather, display four distinct sizes: the app icon, a tiny tile, a longer tile, and a huge tile that resembles an entire page. Only the tile icon and one additional tile choice will be shown in other programs, such as Contacts. Your app will grow in real time on your home screen when you tap the size widget you want to test. You won’t see these choices in some programs, like as Messages, since they lack widgets.

You had to long-press the home screen, hit the plus (+) symbol in the upper right corner, and then look for the appropriate widget before iOS 18. Widgets are now simple to add without having to search for them.

How to adjust the home screen’s widget sizes
Widgets may also have their sizes altered in the same manner. Choose the widget size you want to test by long-pressing on it until a selection opens.

Adding or resizing widgets may probably mess with your custom layout if you have your applications grouped in a certain manner around your home screen. You may need to reorganize your applications after adding a widget or altering its size since I haven’t been able to lock in specific app layouts.
