This Privacy Setting Helps Keep Instagram and Facebook From Tracking You

It’s likely that you are aware that Facebook and Instagram may monitor you online, and you may have already enabled Facebook’s Off-Facebook Activity option to protect your privacy. However, there is now an option to disable monitoring on both Instagram and Facebook in one location.

The recently added activity You may view and manage the data that websites and applications share with the platforms using the Off-Meta Technologies tool, formerly known as Off-Facebook Activity. You can also keep an eye on the kind of data that third-party apps can access. You may delete the history of applications and websites that have shared your data by using the privacy option. Additionally, you have the option to remove any data that Meta has shared from your account. Alternately, you may decide which businesses you wish to cease disclosing your

activities with, and those targeted advertisements will no longer be displayed.

You may view the data that websites and applications have submitted to Meta using its business tools. After that, you may remove the

information from your account and disable further account tracking. You will be able to disable the ability of all applications and websites to share your search activity with Facebook and Instagram.

Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Off-Facebook Activity to begin using Facebook. From there, you may control your offline activities, delete all of your account’s history, and stop any further activity.

On Instagram, pick the stacked three lines in the upper right corner after clicking on your profile button. Next, select Accounts Center > Settings and privacy > Your information and permissions > Your activity from Meta technologies. From here, you may manage upcoming activities, disconnect certain activities, and clear activities.

Facebook and Instagram will delete the identifiable information they exchange with each other once you delete the activity that the tool is in charge of. You won’t get targeted advertisements from those websites since the Meta applications won’t be able to determine which pages you visited or what you looked at.

What else can you do to enhance your Instagram and Facebook privacy?

Go to Settings on your desktop or phone, choose the Meta Accounts Center, and then tap on Ad preferences if you want to manage the Facebook advertisements you see (or don’t). Recent ad activity, advertisers you’ve seen, ad subjects, and ad settings are all visible here. Keep in mind that Facebook also gives you access to your Instagram settings.
