The Galaxy S23 models are the S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra, Samsung’s most recent flagship phones. These gadgets add a number of additional features to the S series, such as the Ultra’s enormous 200-megapixel camera, Astro Hyperlapse for taking time-lapses of the stars, and GIF remastering for enhancing the quality of GIF files.
However, there are a number of new, lesser-known features and settings that may greatly enhance your Galaxy S23 experience hidden behind all the well-known stats. All you have to do is know where to search. Here are five undiscovered Galaxy S23 features and their potential benefits.
This article is a part of Samsung Event, which features news, information, and tips about Samsung’s best-selling items.
Not yet in possession of a Galaxy S23? Take a look at our reviews of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23, and S23 Plus. Here are some comparisons between the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S22, iPhone 14, and Pixel 7 if you’re considering an upgrade.
1. With a single click, remove things from your pictures and movies.
Samsung has included an image-clipping capability in the Galaxy S23, similar to what Apple did with iOS 16. You may use image clipping to extract an object, such a person or an object, from the backdrop of any picture (or even a video) in your photo gallery so you can share it with others.
To remove an object from a picture, go to your camera roll and just click on the item you want to remove. Not every item can be cut, therefore you could get a message that reads, “Couldn’t find anything to clip.” A little vibration will indicate that an item has been successfully clipped, and you will be able to move the clipped object about the image. Videos may also utilize this, but they must be paused.
After that, you may either store the clip as a new image in your gallery, distribute it by email, SMS, or another method, or copy it to your clipboard.

2. Take professional RAW pictures with your camera.
Experienced photographers may now shoot in Expert RAW format thanks to Samsung’s cutting-edge camera app, Expert RAW, which was introduced in 2022. Expert RAW files are uncompressed digital photographs, much like raw files, but they also have the added benefit of multi-exposure HDR, which increases the dynamic range of your photos. Shooting in Expert RAW is solely recommended for better post-processing picture editing. The Expert RAW app is the sole way to access Expert RAW on the Galaxy S22. Expert RAW is now included into the Galaxy S23’s primary camera, but you must first activate it.
Swipe through the different camera modes on the bottom of the Samsung camera, then hit More. After that, choose Expert RAW, which will prompt you to download the Expert RAW program. To shoot in Expert RAW, all you need to do is download the software on your device; you won’t need to open it. After downloading, you may capture Expert RAW pictures with your camera without any restrictions.

3. Put battery longevity ahead of processing speed.
putting off your phone, switching to dark mode, and putting on airplane mode are only a few strategies to extend the battery life. However, Samsung has included an energy-saving function on the Galaxy S23. Your phone will use less energy to save battery life without compromising normal usage thanks to the new Light mode, which puts cooling efficiency and battery life ahead of processing speed.
To activate the recently added Light performance option, go to Settings and enter “performance profile.” Under Battery and device care, there should be just one result; touch it. Next, choose the Light option by tapping Performance profile. Although this feature doesn’t apply when you’re gaming, it can have an impact on other programs’ performance. If you have any problems, return to Standard.

4. Select which alerts from apps appear on your lock screen.
You may not want to get alerts for every app on your lock screen if your Galaxy S23 is locked. There is a new option that lets you choose what appears on your lock screen instead of turning on Do Not Disturb mode, which turns off all notifications in general.
Navigate to Notifications > Lock screen notifications in the Settings app, then choose Show content by tapping the gear icon. Every app on your phone will be listed; you can turn off notifications for specific apps here if you don’t want them to show up on your lock screen.

5. View the battery life on your home screen for each of your Galaxy devices.
It’s now simpler to monitor the battery life of all your Galaxy devices thanks to Samsung. You may monitor the battery life of your Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, and other devices from your Galaxy S23 by adding one of the two new battery widgets that you can find in your home screen personalization settings.

You may check the battery life of your other Galaxy devices from your lock screen as long as they are linked to your S23.
To access Widgets, place your finger anywhere on a vacant area on your home screen. Battery status circles in a 4×1 grid and a battery status list in a 4×2 grid are the two new battery widgets that you can now add to your home screen.
